Energy efficiency incentive program available for IMPA’s commercial and industrial customers

Controlling the cost of electricity has long been a concern for companies, especially those who are large power users. The Indiana Municipal Power Agency (IMPA), a not-for-profit, wholesale power provider, is offering an incentive program for commercial and industrial customers who implement energy-saving measures. IMPA offers incentives to qualified customers in the areas of energy efficient lighting; heating, ventilation and air conditioning; motors, fans and drives; and refrigeration, food service and controls. IMPA serves 53 cities and towns across Indiana and one town in Ohio. IMPA provides wholesale power to communities ranging in population from 500 to 55,000 who own and operate their own power distribution systems. Communities in Wayne County served by IMPA include Richmond, Centerville and Dublin. For more information regarding IMPA, other services available or the Commercial and Industrial Energy Efficiency Incentive program, go to http://www.impa.com/IMPA-energy-efficiency-program.asp.

With the signing of House Bill 1004 by Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels, the state’s corporate income tax rate is set to decrease 25 percent between 2012 and 2015. The current rate is 8.5 percent and is considered to be among the highest particularly among neighboring Midwest states. The legislation outlines a 0.5 percent drop each year to reach 6.5 percent in 2015. Sponsor of the bill, Senator Brandt Hershman says, “By reducing the tax burden for businesses we are sending a strong message to company decision-makers from coast-to-coast and around the world that Indiana is serious about competing for their business and will continue to work to make our state the best possible place to grow.” You can learn more here.
